Thuja, or Western Red Cedar, is an important and sacred native tree in the Pacific Northwest. Medicinally speaking, its primary use is as an antifungal, making it effective when applied topically to athlete's foot, ringworm and other fungal infections. Internally it is beneficial for thrush, vaginal yeast and candida overgrowth. It is also an aromatic expectorant that breaks up congestion, helps with coughs and speeds healing time of respiratory infections. Some believe it be useful against skin cancer.
