Manufacturer Description

Many people new to herbal preparations are not aware that there is a difference in a powdered herbal extract and an herbal powder. Although herbal powders are effective, that is NOT what the Diabetes Herbal Protocol calls for. The Diabetes Protocol calls for powdered herbal extracts, which are more concentrated and much more potent than basic herbal powders. This formula uses powdered extracts with the exception of the Shepherds Purse Powder. It is the ONLY one that is NOT an extract. This is why you will need to use a little more of the product than is suggested in the original recipe.
5g Abyssinian Myrrh Root Extract (Commiphora Abyssinica)
5g Astragalus Root Extract (Astragalus Membranaceus)
6g Balloon Flower Root Extract (Platycodi Rdix)
4g Chicory Extract (Cichorium Intybus)
4g Chinese Motherwort Extract (Leonurus Artemisia)
4g Jujube Fruit Extract (Ziziohus Jujuba)
5g Lycium Chinese Fruit Extract (Lycium Barbarum)
5g Mulberry Leaf Extract (Morus Alba)
6g Schizandre Chinese Fruit Extract (Schizandre Fructus)
5g Solomon's Seal Root Extract (Polygonatum Biflorium)
30g Shepherd's Purse Powder (Capsella bursa pastoris)
5g Licorice Root Extract (Glycyrrhiza Radix)
5g Wild Yam Root Extract (Dioscorea Villosa)
50g Fenugreek Seed
A powdered herb is simply said herb, dried and powdered. An herbal extract has been processed and is usually a 4:1 or 5:1 ratio, meaning that is more potent. So, if you are simply using a powder it will take much more to have the same effect as the extract. Among the advantages of herbal extracts is their ability to preserve the active constituents in plants, their long shelf life, and almost immediate effect. Extracts can be easily added to water, tea, juice, or taken directly by mouth. This is for informational purposes only.
