Description: Extract from Rhubarb roots in a base of water and glycerin, preserved with phenoxyethanol. Rhubarb root extract contains rhaponticin, a molecule that activates PPARγ, a receptor that stimulates the growth of skin cells (differentiation of keratinocytes) and natural hydration mechanisms. Yellowish to amber liquid, herbal odor. Water-soluble. CAS#: 56-81-5, 8016-55-5, 90106-27-7, 122-99-6. INCI Name: Water, glycerin, Rheum Rhaponticum (rhubarb root) extract. Properties: Great moisturizing properties. Improves barrier function of skin and recovers skin hydration. In addition, rhubarb root increases the production of barrier lipids, nearly tripling ceramide levels, to protect skin from future moisture loss. Use: Add to formulas as is, typical use level 1 - 10%. For external use only. Application: Skin lotions & creams, hand cream, hair masks and conditioners, makeup & sun protection and after-sun care.
