Grape seed is among a group of plant flavonoids called Proanthocyanidins. The most celebrated effects of proanthocyanidolic oligomers (PCO for short), are their potent antioxidant and free radical scavenging properties. The PCO extracted from grape seed has emerged as the preferred source of PCO in France based on extensive research between 1951 and 1978.
